Title : Focal placenta accrete in a congenitally malformed uterus
Abstract:
Background: Placenta accreta is defined as abnormal trophoblast invasion of part or all of the placenta into the myometrium of the uterine wall. It is a well known cause of increased maternal morbidity and mortality.
Clinical Case: Here we present a case of focal placenta accreta, unique due to bicornuate uterus and history of septum resection, its management and outcome. Patient underwent classical cesarean section and reinforcement of the anterior and posterior uterine wall.
Conclusion: History of surgery for correction of uterine malformation may result in abnormal adherence of placenta.
