The female reproductive system is a complex network of organs and hormones that work together to produce and transport eggs, receive sperm, and enable fertilization and reproduction. The primary purpose of the reproductive system is to generate offspring. The female reproductive system consists of internal and external organs and structures that work together to facilitate reproduction. The internal organs of the female reproductive system are the ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, and cervix. The ovaries produce and store eggs, as well as hormones such as estrogen and progesterone. The fallopian tubes carry the eggs from the ovaries to the uterus. The uterus is a hollow, muscular organ where an embryo can develop and grow. The cervix is the lower part of the uterus that opens into the vagina. The external organs of the female reproductive system are the vulva, which includes the labia, clitoris, and urethra. The labia are two sets of skin folds that protect the other external reproductive organs. The clitoris is a small erectile structure that is highly sensitive to stimulation. The urethra is the tube that carries urine from the bladder to the outside of the body.
