Fetal diagnostics is the process of diagnosing and evaluating fetal health by using various imaging techniques and medical tests. It is used to detect various fetal disorders, such as genetic abnormalities, structural problems, and other medical conditions that may affect the unborn baby. Fetal diagnostics can be used to monitor the fetus’s growth and development, to identify any potential health issues that may arise during pregnancy, and to detect possible defects or complications in the fetus. Various types of imaging techniques and tests are used in fetal diagnostics. Ultrasound is the most common of these techniques, as it can provide detailed images of the fetus and the surrounding structures. It is used to detect the baby’s gender, to measure the size of the fetus, and to look for signs of abnormalities. Other imaging techniques, such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT) scans, may be used to get a more detailed look at the fetus. In addition to imaging techniques, fetus diagnostics also includes a range of medical tests. These tests can include amniocentesis, which is a procedure that uses a needle to take a sample of the amniotic fluid; chorionic villus sampling (CVS), which is a procedure that takes a sample of the placenta; and non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT), which is a blood test that looks for genetic abnormalities. Fetal diagnostics can provide important information to help parents and medical professionals make informed decisions about the health of the unborn baby. It can help detect any potential problems, allowing for early intervention and treatment, and it can provide reassurance that the baby is growing and developing normally.
