Biography:
Dr. Vazquez-Levin completed her MSc. and PhD. in Chemistry (Major Biological Chemistry) at the School of Exact and Natural Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina). From 1986 to 1995 trained in the United States, as Postdoctoral Fellow at Roche Institute of Molecular Biology (Hoffman La Roche Laboratory), and later as Instructor & Assistant Professor at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine (MSSM) (NYC, USA). During this training, Dr. Vazquez-Levin became Supervisor of the IVF Program at MSSM and later Director of Clinical & Basic Andrology Laboratory at Beth Israel Medical Center, USA, and was NY State and NYC Board Certified Laboratory Director. Since 1996 Dr. Vazquez-Levin was incorporated as Staff Member at the National Research Council of Argentina (CONICET), and is now Principal Investigator. She is Director of a R+D+i Laboratory at Instituto de Biología y Medicina Experimental (IBYME), from the National Research Council of Argentina. Dr. Vazquez-Levin is also coordinating the Male Reproductive Health Unit at the large clinical laboratory in Buenos Aires CD Rossi. Dr. Vazquez-Levin research career has been focused in the fields of Reproductive Biology and Molecular Oncology, and has been Principal Investigator of national and international grants. Current scientific projects relate to Male Reproductive Health and Cancer Biomarkers. She has mentored undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral fellows, medical residents and young investigators. She has directed of over 40 Master and PhD Thesis. Dr. Vazquez-Levin is author of over 90 original papers, reviews and book chapters, and presented numerous national and international conferences. Dr. Vazquez-Levin has been Staff, Project and Institutional Scientific Evaluator/Advisor at national and international level. In addition, Dr. Vazquez-Levin is serving in several international organizations: member of the WHO Research Project Review Panel (RP2), from the Department of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Research (SRH)/ Human Reproduction Programme (HRP); member of the Male Reproductive Health Initiative (MRHI; European Society of Human Reproduction & Embriology; ESHRE Group); member of the Male Infertility Core Outcome Set (COMMIT); and member of The experts Group on Inositol in Basic and Clinical Research (EGOI). Dr. Vazquez-Levin is Associate Editor of Human Reproduction and Editor of Fertility and Sterility & Fertility and Sterility Science. She is also Editor of the International Society of Andrology. Dr. Vazquez-Levin is an active member of several prestigious international (International Society of Andrology; American Society of Reproductive Medicine; Spanish Association of Fertility) and national (Argentine Society of Biology; Argentine Society of Andrology; Argentine Society of Clinical Investigation, and Argentine Society of Gynecological Endocrinology and Reproduction) scientific societies, and member of their Executive Boards.
